AN ODE TO FLORENCE
Our guide to florence
Florence has a special place in our hearts. The city of silk merchants, Renaissance art and slow evenings by the Arno, and a place where beautiful things are made to last.
It is also where our Florence Pants are made. Each pair is sewn by local artisans in a city with centuries of silk-making tradition. Naming them after Florence felt like the only choice.
Between meetings and fabric hunting, we have built up a list of places we keep going back to. Small trattorias, natural wine bars, a gelato or two and the shops worth a detour. We have gathered them all here.
Inspiration and culture
Uffizi Gallery
One of the world’s great art museums, home to Botticelli, Leonardo and Michelangelo. We always leave inspired by the colours and the beautiful works on both the walls and the painted ceilings.
Piazza Santo Spirito
The sweetest piazza for an afternoon drink in the sun, surrounded by locals rather than tourists.
Caffè Gilli
The oldest café in Florence and just as beautiful inside. Come for coffee and pastries in the morning or a drink in the evening.
EAT
Trattoria Sostanza
The atmosphere is 100%. Order the artichoke omelette and the butter chicken.
Trattoria Camillo
Great food and atmosphere. Finish with wild strawberries and vanilla ice cream.
Semel
Our favourite little sandwich and a glass of red wine for 5 euros. The perfect lunch on the go.
Shop
Madova
A glove shop that came highly recommended to us. They help you find your exact size, and it is first on our list for next time.
Quercioli & Lucherini
A beautiful lingerie shop with great basics, including Oscalito classics.
Sunday market at Piazza Santo Spirito
Find small treasures like vintage jewellery, clothing, old prints and antique lamps and mirrors. The market takes over the piazza every second Sunday of the month.
DRINK
Le Volpi e l’Uva
A hidden spot with natural wines and very good crostini.
Vineria Sonora
Lovely atmosphere, vinyl records and natural wines.
Todo Modo
An independent bookshop with a cosy café in the back. Stop by for a coffee and browse the shelves.
